About the Co-op

The Co-op was established in 1997 in the footsteps of other great food cooperatives around Sydney, such as Alfalfa House in Newtown. 

The Co-op is a member-owned and not-for-profit business and we exist only to benefit our community. Once we have covered our costs, any surplus revenue is returned to the members by way of reduced prices, events or other benefits. 

Like for-profit businesses, it is important for the Co-op to operate as effectively as possible, so that we can maximise those member benefits.
