We are looking for an experienced retail professional who will manage the day-to-day operations of our awesome Co-Op. The Co-Op has entered into a new and exciting phase of growth and this role is pivotal to ensuring the ongoing delivery of our mission to be the first choice for our members’ grocery shopping.
The Shop Manager will provide continuity between Co-Op tasks and our dedicated team of volunteers as well as being the eyes and ears of the Board of Directors (BOD). Management functions will continue to be provided by the BOD and other volunteers assigned to specialised management functions or projects (e.g. Accounts Payable).
You will be responsible for rostering and ensuring that the Co-Op is open for our customers at the times advertised and work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to create an environment that supports and encourages volunteer participation and loyalty. From time to time you will also provide support for our member events, for example product tastings and cooking workshops.
You will have the ability to think ahead, organise, execute and problem solve without being asked. You can multitask while staying operations focused. You know how to effectively communicate with a broad range of people; team members, volunteers, members, suppliers, delivery drivers and the general public that walk in off the street.
You will have attention to detail and a passion for healthy living (aka the good health of our customers, the good health of our planet and community involvement). You will be motivated to grow with the Co-Op and see it continue to grow and blossom.
